It has everything you want to know about the evolving field of natural investing with extensive appendices for each section. Web links, phone numbers, everything you might want.

  • Natural Capital and Human Economic Survival, Thomas Prugh, ISEE Press, 1995.
  • The Social Investment Forum is the central clearinghouse and resource on socially responsible investing. I'm a member and proud of it!
  • Coop America sponsors the Social Investment Forum and produces a printed and online Green Pages to help you access "products and services for people and the planet."
  • The Shore Bank is the oldest community investment bank in the country and has a variety of investment opportunities.
  • The Shareholder Action Network has the most comprehensive information of the various shareholder actions happening right now.
  • Social Funds.com Information on socially responsible investing. You can find current performance information on their site.
  • MorningstarAdvisor.com This site has complete information on every mutual fund. A great site for tracking and comparing performance.

Taxes
  • IRS The IRS wants your money, and they know how to get it. At their site you can download any form or publication that they publish, arrange for online payment, and generally improve your relationship with your friends at the IRS. A pretty convenient and helpful site actually.
  • Fairmark.com A site about taxes, or more importantly, on how to pay less taxes.
  • Taxplanet Another site about taxes and how to pay less.

Insurance
If you are having difficulty finding a local insurance agent that you like and trust, or if you want to compare rates, check out the following two sites. Debt Elimination
Both of these sites have excellent information to help you understand, control and eliminate your debt. Highly recommended.
General Financial & Banking
  • Financenter.com Loads of financial calculators. Figure what you need for retirement, compute interest rates, amortize loans, basically anything you need a financial calculator for.
  • Quicken.com We love Quicken. This little program has probably done more for helping people understand their finances than anything else we know of. Many great features are offered at their site.
  • www.pcuonline.org The Permaculture Credit Union, based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, accepts membership from and lends to those people who agree to the three ethics of permaculture: care for the earth, care for people, and the return of surplus to those ends.

If you have any need (and you probably do) for legal advice, check out Nolo.com. Excellent site with tons of resources focused of free or low-cost legal help. They publish excellent books on a range of topics to help you be your own legal advocate. The site also has a great section of lawyer jokes. Highly recommended.
